Concepts

1. Harmony
the combination of simultaneously sounded musical notes to produce chords and chord progressions having a pleasing effect.

2. Rhythm
a strong, regular, repeated pattern of movement or sound.

3. Beat
In music and music theory, the beat is the basic unit of time, the pulse, of the mensurable level. The beat is often defined as the rhythm listeners would tap their toes to when listening to a piece of music, or the numbers a musician counts while performing, though in practice this may be technically incorrect.

4. Percussion
Percussion instrument is a musical instrument that is sounded by being struck or scraped by a beater; struck, scraped or rubbed by hand; or struck against another similar instrument. The percussion family is believed to include the oldest musical instruments, following the human voice.

5. Wind Instruments are typically grouped into two families: Brass instruments (horns, trumpets, trombones, euphoniums, and tubas) Woodwind instruments (recorders, flutes, oboes, clarinets, saxophones, and bassoons)

6. Musical Ensemble
Also known as a music group or musical group, an ensemble is a group of people who perform instrumental or vocal music, with the ensemble typically known by a distinct name. Some music ensembles consist solely of instruments, such as the jazz quartet or the orchestra.

 Students' Work

Education in Korea

I admire the dedication and tireless work ethic exhibited by students who pour their hearts and souls into their endeavors. Witnessing their commitment to excellence and their willingness to go above and beyond in pursuit of their dreams is truly inspiring. However, it pains me to acknowledge that in some cases, this relentless pursuit of success can lead to devastating consequences, including mental and emotional exhaustion, burnout, and, tragically, even suicide. It is disheartening to witness the toll that the relentless pressure to achieve can take on individuals, highlighting the urgent need for greater awareness, support, and resources to prioritize mental health and well-being in all aspects of life. While I celebrate their dedication and hard work, I also recognize the importance of fostering a culture that values balance, self-care, and mental wellness, ensuring that no ambition is pursued at the expense of one's health and happiness.

Choosing Between Two Approaches to Teaching Beat and Rhythm

I prefer the girl as a teacher over the man because of her innate kindness and caring demeanor, which I believe are invaluable qualities in an educator. Her compassionate nature creates a nurturing and supportive learning environment where students feel valued, understood, and encouraged to thrive. She imparts knowledge and fosters meaningful connections with her students, taking the time to listen to their concerns, offer guidance, and provide emotional support when needed. Her genuine empathy and concern for the well-being of her students extend beyond the classroom, making her a trusted mentor and role model. I feel seen, heard, and understood in her presence, knowing she genuinely cares about my academic growth and personal development. Her warmth and compassion enrich the learning experience, making her an exceptional teacher I admire and respect.

Playing Music in Class

That class was undeniably the most enjoyable learning experience of my life, a vibrant and dynamic environment where every moment was infused with excitement and enthusiasm. Its exclusivity made it exceptional; regardless of background or ability, everyone was actively engaged and involved in the learning process. The innovative approach encouraged participation from all students, fostering a sense of uplifting camaraderie and collaboration. From interactive discussions to hands-on activities and group projects, every lesson was an immersive adventure that sparked curiosity and ignited a passion for learning. This inclusive atmosphere made learning fun and memorable and empowered young students to embrace their unique talents and perspectives, fostering a sense of belonging and confidence in their abilities. In that class, every voice mattered, and every contribution was celebrated, making it an invaluable experience I will always cherish.
